Hebrew Alphabet
I have rewritten the articles on all the Hebrew letters here and before I replace the pages, your input would be appreciated. Feel free to comment on the talk page or edit the page directly. Thanks! Sputnikcccp 16:26, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Re: Suu Kyi query Yes, they were just showing as a blank space.
Azazel :)
Hey. In Hebrew, Azazel is written with one aleph, like so: עזאזל. The Bible says so!

Ancient Greek Wikisource
I understand from your userboxes you're interested in Ancient Greek. I've submitted a proposal to add an Ancient Greek Wikisource on Meta, and I'd be very grateful if you could assist me by either voting in Support of the proposal, or even adding your name as one of the contributors in the template. (NB: I'm posting this to a lot of people, so please reply to my talkpage or to Meta) --Nema Fakei 20:20, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Re: Colbert Edits
Thanks very much! More edit to come -- that's what's open in my word processor right now. :) -- Lee Bailey(talk) 22:39, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you again! The tekjansen.com link issue has been a bit distressing, especially with the rest of the recent vandalism troubles that article has been experiencing recently. I'm not sure what else to do besides more of the same -- remove link, cite policy, repeat. Certainly tedious, but it's nice to know it's appreciated. :) -- (Lee)Bailey(talk) 22:46, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe a thing "to do" smarter than "more of the same -- remove link" would be to do some research. Maybe dig around the site a bit, maybe get some more outside opinions. More of the same? Jeez louise, if I may be so informal. GBH 02:11, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

- Yes and no, it's meant for anyting tied to the discussion, so I apologize for your proximity to the ever-vigilant Lee Bailey. Apparently there is no "proving" some things to some editors. She does fantastic work in some ways, botched back-alley work in others. The problem stems from a lack of opinion on the matter and I never know where she draws these conclusions from, so I wanted to cover whatever bases I was able. Feel free to delete as you like, but any clown can see from the front page of www.tekjansen.com that it's Comedy Central project (by all the video, Flash and other ads, not to mention the copyright notice) that it should at least be CONSIDRED for inclusion, instead of start-and-stop half attempts at not-moderation to put us off. - I still don't see how you can infer that tekjansen.com is Comedy Central. What copyright notice are you taking about--the one that says a bunch of ambiguous things and never once refers to Comedy Central, Comedy Partners, etc.? What about the video and flash--anybody can put video and flash and links on a site, not just Comedy Central. And if you
whois
the site, no useful information linking them to Comedy Central is given (unlike for, say, colbertnation.com). I'm afraid I still don't believe you. --Makaristos 15:29, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Political section of Reed College
I understand that my first rewording went a little too far, but the original topic sentence is just blatantly wrong. Ballantine's decision to fire Moore was his own, and came after Reed's Faculty Council "upheld the professors' fitness to teach at Reed". Ballantine's forced resignation was due to combined student and faculty pressure. I don't see how you can draw from this anything except for, Reed was historically liberal. My source for all of this is the Student Handbook's historical article.
I'm worried that in "revising POV edits", you erased material over and above removing the biased topic sentence, particularly when the erased material completely changed the meaning of the paragraph. Did you use any source that told you the edits were inaccurate?
Please put the link to mobbing.ca back on "Scapegoat"
Hi Makaristos, on the Scapegoat page under the section "Political/sociological scapegoating" it refers to the mobbing process as experienced by Jews at the hands of Nazis.
"Scapegoating is an important tool of propaganda; for example, the Jews were singled out in Nazi propaganda as the source of Germany's economic woes and political collapse."
An article on mobbing.ca called "Mobbing: A Familiar Pattern" explains the mobbing process as it relates to the Holocaust. http://members.shaw.ca/mobbing/mobbingCA/patterns-1.htm
Mobbing is sociological scapegoating. Kenneth Westhues, Professor of Sociology, University of Waterloo has written at least six books on the subject of mobbing http://arts.uwaterloo.ca/%7Ekwesthue/mobbing.htm and has also referred to it as scapegoating specifically.
Scapegoating is an effective if temporary means of achieving group solidarity, when it cannot be achieved in a more constructive way. It is a turning inward, a diversion of energy away from serving nebulous external purposes toward the deliciously clear, specific goal of ruining a disliked co-worker's life.
Mobbing = Sociological Scapegoating and is a grave form of injustice. Prof. Westhues has included a link to mobbing.ca on his website as well (above link).
So please put the link to mobbing.ca back as it is definitely not "linkspam".
Here is the link:

or just send me a message on my Talk page and I will put it back.

re: mobbing.ca link on Scapegoat article
Hi User:Makaristos, thanks for your reply. I had a look at Wikipedia:External Links but wasn't really able to find anything there that would preclude inclusion of a link to mobbing.ca. Even item 4 under "Links normally to be avoided" does not apply.
Links that are added to promote a site, that primarily exist to sell products or services, with objectionable amounts of advertising, or that require payment to view the relevant content, colloquially known as external link spamming.
First mobbing.ca certainly does not "primarily exist to sell products or services". mobbing.ca had a great deal of content before there was any advertising whatsoever. Any advertising that has been added has been with the purpose of adding to the visual interest of the pages by providing links to products that relate directly to the subject at hand. Products which would be of interest to targets of scapegoating (mobbing). With over 40 pages of content, so far, the vast majority of the site is content - not advertising. So I do not believe it would be fair to say mobbing.ca contains "objectionable amounts of advertising". Further mobbing.ca does not "require payment to view the relevant content" of any of its pages whatsoever.
Content on mobbing.ca does contain a range of perspectives, some pages reflect opinions of those who have experienced scapegoating firsthand, most pages provide more objective information such as the health and legal information pages as well as many feature articles written by journalists and researchers. A site not being 100 percent nuetral is not a reason to preclude its inclusion as an external link in Wikipedia. If you searched hard enough I'm sure you could find a reason to disallow any site at all. There are far more reasons (as mentioned in previous post) to include mobbing.ca than the few technicalities which may be found to disallow it. mobbing.ca is completely relevant to the subject at hand and provides a depth of information currently not covered in the Wiki article. Let's not split hairs while overlooking overwhelming justification for inclusion of mobbing.ca. Please reconsider and add mobbing.ca to the external links.
For your convenience here is the link:

Basque Portal?
Kaixo, I'm contacting you because you figure in Category:User eu, meaning that you speak some Basque. You must therefore be Basque yourself or have an intense connection with the Basque Country.
I am thinking that maybe was a good idea to create a Portal (or maybe a Wikiproject? or both?) on the Basque theme but I feel such kind of project requires more than just one person.
If you are interested, please comment in my talk page.
Enjoy, --Sugaar 10:30, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Pioneer Courthouse Square IP guy
I am with you on this one. He is waaay out of hand. I put a comment in the talk section. Plus a simple compromise that would barely give him the benifit of the doubt by just changing the text of what he cited and fitting in to its own seperate section not the main intro where it obviously doesn't belong. Plus adding the positives of the article he tries every so bluntly to cite. Thanks for listening...--Xiahou 00:36, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Makaristos, put the link you deleted back please.
Actually I tried to address your concerns and wrote a reasonable response (see above). Unfortunately this was simply ignored. Is that what you meant by "I thought we had reached some sort of resolution on it."? Is this yet another page on Wiki that someone wants to lord-it-over and refuses any contributions which do not exactly coincide with their own view? Why undermine others who are attempting to contribute just for the sake of being malicious? As for your misapplied RULES I have found one that applies and seems to be the only one that allows any contributions on some pages at all. That rule is: If the rules prevent you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore them. Regards, Radyx 11:46, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Regarding Pioneer Courthouse Square
Hi! I've accepted your request for mediation, and even though the page is protected, stability would be better in the long run. Please visit Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-12-26 Pioneer Courthouse Square and state what you'd like to see happen to the page, whether that be removal or refactoring, I'll contact the other editors and hopefully the protection can be released. Thanks! ST47Talk 23:43, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Please check the article. An anonymous editor made a change that you should verify. Thanks. Jerry 03:13, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Makaristos. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Homsar.png) was found at the following location: User:Makaristos. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 08:05, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
QuickTime on Wikipedia?
Makaristos, I would like to use a QTVR file I created for the Saturn V Instrument Unit page. I could simply put in a link to a personal website I created that has this file, but I would prefer this Wikipedia article to all be saved to Wikipedia servers. The upload page list of approved file formats does not include .mov.
Is it possible to covert this movie to a format that is approved?
The features I would like to preserve are roaming, zooming, and labeling of hot spots. The file is posted at http://mysite.verizon.net/vze26fpb/SaturnIU/Saturn_IU_Mk17.mov. (The whole website I created starts at http://mysite.verizon.net/vze26fpb/SaturnIU/index2.htm.)

Interface localization for Klingon
Hi! I'm writing this to you as you are one of the people in Category:User tlh-3. I was wondering if you would be interested in starting a localization process for Klingon, so that we can get MediaWiki in Klingon.
There is a system for localization at BetaWiki that lets users translate the interface to their language, and makes the centralized localization files update, so that all wikis running MediaWiki can use the language. This means that you can choose to have a Klingon interface on all Wikimedia wikis like Wikipedia.
I hope you will be interested in this, and join in the effort of translating MediaWiki to all human languages (and then some). Jon Harald Søby 17:01, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
