Beethoven
[edit]As far as I am aware there was no game released for the Mega Drive/Genesis called Beethoven. There was a game called "Beethoven's 2nd" but I think that was released on another platform.
missing "J.League Pro Striker Kanzenban"
[edit]its a enhanced game, but a different game, like different versions of Street Fighter II. maybe can be on the list.

consider to include "Sansan"
[edit]seems to be a program, but have a "Go!" game inside. need more studies. https://segaretro.org/Sansan — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2804:7F0:E181:7B94:6D62:7676:FA41:A33C (talk) 17:49, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024)
[edit]This list includes licensed releases for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis consoles. In November 2024, Sega and Paramount distributed 150 Sega Genesis copies of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (film) to various crew members and content creators. The cartridges included various Sonic 3 film related material and featured a small minigame where Sonic runs from Shadow. The ROM was created by developer Brielle Garcia (tacolamp) in the span of 4 weeks.
The copies that were sent featured Sega's seal of approval, the same seal given to licensed releases for the platform. Due to this coupled with the distribution being handled by Sega and Paramount, it is worth considering if this counts as an officially licensed release for the platform.
This list already includes releases such as the Blockbuster World Video Game Championship II which was never commercially released in stores so that should not be a factor to consider as a result.
Should Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (film) be counted on this list of licensed releases? Bro3256 (talk) 01:25, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- No, it's just a marketing thing. It's not an actual game, it's just promo stuff with some interactive bits to it. Sergecross73 msg me 03:40, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Several articles ([1][2][3][4]) note that the cartridge contains a "playable minigame". Most describe it as the highlight of the cartridge. I understand that the package as a whole is not a 'Genesis game' in the traditional sense but I don't think that's enough of a reason to warrant it's exclusion. At the end of the day, this is an officially licensed and distributed piece of Genesis software that contains gameplay, hence, Genesis game. Loytra (talk) 16:17, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- I agree it is a promotional item, but I disagree regarding the qualifications in regards to its game status cause there are dozens of software releases on this and other similar "game" lists on Wikipedia that do not qualify as video games, and if it did than Art Alive! would not qualify for this list since its a paint program and not a video game. Time of release doesn't appear to matter either as the list of Atari 2600 games includes a licensed release from November 2023. The SNES list has sections for "Championship games" and "Non-retail releases" which I feel this Genesis list should implement. Bro3256 (talk) 16:28, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
